Anti-hemorrhoidal
Although 75% of the world's population experiences symptoms similar to those caused by hemorrhoids, only 4% of people consult a specialist - and find out that
they suffer from this rather unpleasant condition. Offered on the doctor's recommendation, such an ointment has the role of improving the symptoms caused by
hemorrhoids and possibly curing this condition. Of course, a hemorrhoid ointment is recommended only when it can really help. In more advanced cases,
operations are much more effective and even recommended.
What happens if you use a hemorrhoid cream for too long?
The vast majority of hemorrhoid creams contain hydrocortisone (hormone), which is extremely effective in combating this kind of condition. As a rule, a treatment
with a cream for hemorrhoids lasts a maximum of 7 days. The use of the cream after this period is not recommended. Products, cosmetics or dermatocosmetics,
that contain hormones of any type should not be used for a long time, because they come with negative effects. Thus, if you use hemorrhoid creams for too long,
you can start to experience increased heart rate, headaches, anxiety and sleep problems.
At the same time, hydrocortisone affects the skin in the treated area - it makes it thinner and, implicitly, much more sensitive.
Can you buy an ointment for hemorrhoids without a doctor's prescription/recommendation?
Most of the creams and ointments designed to relieve the symptoms caused by hemorrhoids can be bought without a prescription. Of course, you can also find
products that require a doctor's recommendation plus the related prescription.
However, even if you can purchase an ointment for hemorrhoids without a recommendation/prescription, it is advisable to do so only when you have a clear
diagnosis and when you have already followed a treatment against hemorrhoids. Otherwise, it is vital to seek the advice of a specialist doctor - he can recommend a
better, more effective product than the one you are thinking of buying.
Scented/perfumed anti-hemorrhoids – are they recommended?
Obviously not. Despite this fact and for various reasons, many products of this type come with certain aromas, perfumes and smells - these being absolutely
unnecessary. The perfume contributes to the irritation and can increase the level of sensitivity of the affected area.
The only hemorrhoid creams with perfume that you should use are those with natural extracts - more precisely, those that contain the perfume/smell of a natural
extract and not a synthetic one.
